About the role
Custom Truck One Source has an opening for a Warehouse Associate with a background in heavy and light duty trucks and equipment. This position requires a high degree of safety, accuracy, and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to the established process for daily shipping and receiving of all incoming and outbound freight.
- Verify product received matches packing slip and/or purchase order and receive in system.
- Load or unload materials manually or with a forklift, on or off pallets, platforms, skids, or lifting devices.
- Replenish shelves with incoming stock orders.
- Perform parts runs between locations in a company vehicle to pick up and/or deliver parts as needed.
- Pull and package items for local and out-of-town deliveries.
- Assist with year-end physical inventory.
- Keep warehouse organized and clean.
- Deliver parts to local and out-of-town retail customers.
Requirements
- Previous parts or warehouse experience.
- Experience with an inventory management system.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and strict attention to detail to ensure completeness and accuracy of work.
- Excellent organizational and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting.
- Ability to operate both sit-down and stand-up forklifts and obtain forklift certification.
- Math proficiency.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, setting priorities and adapting to changing work demands.
- Must be self-sufficient and driven to meet deadlines and schedules.
- Knowledge of heavy and light duty trucks and equipment preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong attendance record.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test, physical, and audiogram.
- Proficient on a computer and able to learn new programs quickly.
- Must be able to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Must work independently and create innovative solutions to problems with minimal direction from supervisors.
- Use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
Working Conditions
- Able to work as scheduled with punctual attendance; regular schedule is 8 hours per day with a start time between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM, Monday–Friday, plus additional hours/days as needed to meet business demands.
- Majority of work performed in a shop and outside.
- Safety shoes are required; safety glasses may be required for some tasks.
- May be exposed to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas, and/or fumes.
- Ability to use carts, forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, overhead jobs, and cranes.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to see things in close proximity, whether through natural or corrected vision.
- Ability to walk and stand on concrete and uneven surfaces for at least 8 hours per day.
- Lifting: ability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs; frequent lifting, moderate to heavy (50 lbs plus requires team lifting), carrying, pushing, and/or pulling.
- Significant stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling throughout an 8–12 hour day, and up to 60 hours per week.
- Climbing and balancing on ladders and platforms of heights above 42".
