About the role
McKenney’s is looking for a dependable and motivated individual to join our warehouse team as a Warehouse Associate I. This is an entry-level position focused on supporting material handling, order staging, and warehouse organization. You will gain valuable experience working in a fast-paced construction logistics environment with opportunities for cross-training and advancement. This position is part of a clearly defined career progression within our Warehouse operations team. High-performing team members have the opportunity to advance from Associate I to Associate II to Warehouse Coordinator, with increasing levels of responsibility, ownership, and influence over operations.
Duties & Essential Job Functions
- Unload incoming deliveries from vendors, identify materials, and coordinate storage of these materials in dedicated locations
- Use iPhone and warehouse software (Warehouse Connect) to receive and remove material
- Pick and stage material for outbound shipments based on McKenney’s dispatching software (TruckTicket)
- Perform quality checks to verify the integrity of all materials and equipment in each inbound delivery
- Assist with tool room, trucking, or jobsite deliveries when needed
- Log hours worked per job and submit weekly time tickets
- Participate in daily safety practices, including Near Miss and Safety Observation reporting
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic computer and mobile device skills
- Ability to safely operate or learn to operate a forklift (training provided)
- Reliable, organized, and willing to learn
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or material handling
- Exposure to construction or warehouse environments

- Willingness to learn inventory software and warehouse processes
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality checks
- Physically capable and safety-conscious

- Adherence to 5S standards and jobsite readiness practices
Working conditions and physical effort
- Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises
- Work environment involves moderate exposure to construction warehouse hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions
- Strong physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds and extensive climbing, walking, and standing
