About the role

McKenney’s is looking for a dependable and motivated individual to join our warehouse team as a Warehouse Associate I. This is an entry-level position focused on supporting material handling, order staging, and warehouse organization. You will gain valuable experience working in a fast-paced construction logistics environment with opportunities for cross-training and advancement. This position is part of a clearly defined career progression within our Warehouse operations team. High-performing team members have the opportunity to advance from Associate I to Associate II to Warehouse Coordinator, with increasing levels of responsibility, ownership, and influence over operations.

Duties & Essential Job Functions

  • Unload incoming deliveries from vendors, identify materials, and coordinate storage of these materials in dedicated locations
  • Use iPhone and warehouse software (Warehouse Connect) to receive and remove material
  • Pick and stage material for outbound shipments based on McKenney’s dispatching software (TruckTicket)
  • Perform quality checks to verify the integrity of all materials and equipment in each inbound delivery
  • Assist with tool room, trucking, or jobsite deliveries when needed
  • Log hours worked per job and submit weekly time tickets
  • Participate in daily safety practices, including Near Miss and Safety Observation reporting

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Basic computer and mobile device skills
  • Ability to safely operate or learn to operate a forklift (training provided)
  • Reliable, organized, and willing to learn

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or material handling
  • Exposure to construction or warehouse environments

  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
  • Willingness to learn inventory software and warehouse processes
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality checks
  • Physically capable and safety-conscious
  • Able to take direction, ask questions, and work well within a team
  • Positive attitude and openness to feedback and cross-training opportunities
  • Adherence to 5S standards and jobsite readiness practices

Working conditions and physical effort

  • Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises
  • Work environment involves moderate exposure to construction warehouse hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions
  • Strong physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds and extensive climbing, walking, and standing
