About the role

Works inside and/or outside performing warehouse functions in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, unload, and place incoming inventory items in assigned locations.
  • Maintain clear records on all inventory and stock; inspect stock for damages and document them.
  • Ensure all safety and hygiene standards are met in the warehouse for shipping and receiving orders.
  • Place all orders in the proper location upon arrival.
  • Using work and sales order documentation, maintain kit pick list policy.
  • Coordinate and/or pull and stage parts for production, shipping, and service departments.
  • Load and unload materials safely onto or from pallets, trucks, racks, and shelves by hand, forklift, and/or cranes.
  • Review work orders for closure and monitor partials and completions; report shortages immediately to supervisor.
  • Coordinate and/or fill shortages as parts are received into inventory.
  • Assist in maintaining system location codes.
  • Convey materials safely from stores, staged areas, and work centers to designated areas.
  • Secure lifting attachments to materials and safely convey loads to appropriate destinations.
  • Count, weigh, and record number of units of materials moved or handled to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Safely move and store WIP and finished goods in appropriate locations.
  • Participate in preparation of and in physical inventory.
  • Maintain and use all appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • Use material handling equipment when required.
  • Actively participate in accident prevention and adhere to all safety requirements.
  • Assist in other projects as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 0-1 year of experience required; working knowledge of Material Control or Warehouse environment is preferred.
  • Ability to lift parts, drive forklifts, and operate cranes.
  • Computer experience required.
  • Ability to measure, read single part orthographic drawings, and extract information utilizing codes, symbols, numbers, and data from routings and dispatch schedules.
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic environment with constantly changing needs and little or no notice.
  • Must be flexible and helpful.

Work Environment

Shop manufacturing environment exposures include:

  • Moving mechanical parts, machinery, tools, and equipment.
  • Vibration, fumes, or airborne particles.
  • Motorized vehicles, welding and machining operations, and outside weather conditions.
  • Risk of electric shock.
  • Occasional exposure to varying levels of dirt, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, very warm and/or very chilly temperatures.
  • Very loud noise levels at times, consistent with an industrial assembly facility; hearing protection may be required.
