OES Equipment, part of the DPR Family of Companies, is a fast-paced and innovative construction consumable and heavy equipment rental company seeking a reliable and versatile Warehouse Associate/Backup Driver to support daily operations in Childress, TX. This hybrid role ensures accurate and timely order fulfillment while contributing to warehouse best practices and inventory control.

Responsibilities

  • Order Fulfillment & Shipping Coordination
    • Pull customer orders accurately and efficiently.
    • Safely load and unload trucks according to delivery schedules.
    • Perform cycle counts and verify inventory accuracy.
    • Pull and process transfers between locations.
    • Receive incoming stock and update BIN locations.
    • Face shelves and restock inventory regularly, following FIFO practices.
    • Maintain general warehouse housekeeping and cleanliness.
    • Verify packing slips and ensure orders match documentation using a double-check process before dispatch.
    • Assist with Will Call pickups and coordinate with customers as needed.
    • Update and verify Will Call purchase orders (POs) and ensure proper receiving into the system.
    • File PODs (Proof of Delivery) and other shipping paperwork; deliver to appropriate internal staff.
  • Vehicle Operation (Backup Driver)
    • Serve as backup delivery driver when the primary driver is unavailable.
    • Communicate professionally with customers before and during delivery, confirming details in advance and notifying of delays or issues.
    • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety.
    • Maintain regular cleaning and basic upkeep of company vehicles.
    • Track maintenance intervals and report vehicle issues promptly.
    • Adhere to best practices for product/equipment drop-off and collection.
    • Maintain compliance with all FMCSA regulations and company vehicle guidelines.
  • Equipment & Safety
    • Operate warehouse equipment (based on training and certification).
    • Unload equipment as required, adhering to safety protocols.
    • Secure loads for transport in compliance with safety protocols.
    • Follow all safety policies and procedures during warehouse and driving activities.
    • Assist with pre-trip inspections and loading verifications.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must meet and follow all FMCSA regulations relevant to the class of operator.
  • Pass a drug screen if required.

Qualifications

  • Prior warehouse and trailer experience preferred.
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment (preferred or training provided).
  • Construction supply and equipment knowledge a plus.
  • Experience with operating various types of construction equipment a plus.
  • Rental Man software experience a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, lifting, and loading.
  • Must be able to safely operate warehouse machinery (training provided if needed).
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Periods of sitting in a vehicle/truck and operating it safely for local deliveries.
