Warehouse Associate/Backup Driver

To maintain the warehouse and the product contained within, as well as performing related functions such as loading, unloading, receiving, and additional branch support activities. This role contributes to ABCO’s mission of exceeding customers’ highest expectations by ensuring goods are handled and stored appropriately, maintaining product quality, and supporting branch staff to deliver high-quality customer service.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean, neat, and organized warehouse environment
• Organizes inventory for increased efficiency and processing
• Organizes product in the warehouse according to branch manager’s specifications
• Handles equipment and product carefully to avoid damage
• Reports building maintenance issues immediately (e.g., dock doors, dock levelers, light bulbs)
• Performs branch loading, unloading, and receiving processes
• Uses proper techniques for packaging goods and loading/unloading trucks
• Checks in and stores received product in designated areas for stock and sold items
• Provides receiving paperwork to the Branch Administrator for accuracy checks and computer entry
• Performs the following functions according to ABCO policy, including proper paperwork procedures:
  • Stock transfers
  • Returned goods (both stock and sold orders)
  • Direct vendor returns (e.g., empty refrigerant cylinders)
  • Receipt of vendor direct shipments
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of equipment and its proper utilization (e.g., pallet jacks and other non-powered warehouse equipment)
• Occasionally assists with additional branch projects, such as repositioning product in the warehouse or showroom
• Attends all mandated company functions and training programs

Requirements

• Certified to operate a forklift and hi-low
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
• Manual dexterity to use hands and arms for handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials
• Legally authorized for employment in the United States without requiring employer-sponsored work authorization now or in the future

Pay

$20–25/hour
