Warehouse Associate

About the role

The position involves supporting the warehouse operations at Ryder in Etna, Ohio. The role includes handling consumer goods and products using various types of equipment such as stand-up and sit-down forklifts, cherry pickers, pallet jacks, and more.

Responsibilities

• Pack, kit, and assemble orders and materials.
• Load and unload inbound/outbound trailers.
• Ensure all scanning is completed correctly.
• Help train dock employees on new procedures.
• Ensure the facility is secure at the end of the shift; investigate and resolve scanning issues and housekeeping concerns.
• Perform picking and packing duties.
• Check for evidence of product or container damage.
• Perform the assigned tasks as described in the location’s policies and procedures.
• Participate in workgroup and other team activities for self-improvement and improving warehouse operations.
• Perform housekeeping duties for assigned area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of related warehouse experience.
• One year or more related warehouse experience preferred.
• Intermediate ability to operate and maintain powered industrial trucks like stand-up and sit-down forklifts, cherry pickers, pallet jacks, etc.
• Intermediate ability to operate and maintain manual and/or automated warehouse/manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to read, do basic mathematics, and understand safety, work instructions, policies, etc.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to input data into the WMS computer system.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with excellent time management skills.
