Responsibilities
- Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship)
- Pull inventory for shipments
- Help with ensuring correct material is pulled and loaded on our truck for delivery
- Record selected merchandise in accordance with standard operating procedures
- Ensure correct and complete labels are attached to all orders processed
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
- Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
- Operate and preventively maintain warehouse equipment
- Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Load finished product onto truck
- Navigate equipment through a warehouse to collect customer orders
- Follow all applicable safety regulations and processes as associated with driving, vehicle check, material handling and customer site specifics
- Interact with customers and the public in a professional and positive manner
- Counter sales to General Contractors
- Use technology to help manage the logistics process
- Other relative duties as assigned
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Pre-employment background check and drug test
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of architectural door materials and hardware (optional)
- Experience driving trucks for delivery (preferred)
- Good communication skills
- Ability to accurately do arithmetic, read orders, write instructions and complete forms
- Ability to work closely and cordially with other staff associates
Qualifications
- Physical demands consistent with a construction or installation environment
- Frequent lifting and moving of materials weighing between 25 and 50 pounds
- Work environment may involve travel to project sites and exposure to various environmental conditions
- May be subject to frequent heavy lifting and other physical demands typical of a construction or warehouse environment
