Warehouse Associate - 1st shift

About the role
Reporting to the Location Manager, the Warehouse Associate supports the materials management function of the logistics department and indirectly supports the overall sales function. Warehouse Associates are essential to the operation of the business, ensuring all stock is accounted for, processed, and organized to meet company standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform warehouse activities including receipt, placement into inventory, selection for shipment, and shipment of stock
- Pick and pack orders accurately and promptly
- Receive and restock inventory in designated storage areas
- Safely and accurately cut designated lengths of wire using wire take-up machines
- Load and unload trucks according to established procedures
- Participate in safety initiatives as assigned
- Accurately identify and count inventory in assigned areas
- Maintain quality and quantity performance and production standards
- Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, hand trucks, and other tools
- Participate in ongoing general housekeeping of the warehouse
- Check assigned equipment for proper operation and communicate issues to supervisors
- Follow safe work habits and established safety procedures
- Attend meetings and training sessions
- Perform other warehouse tasks as assigned
Requirements
- Entry-level work experience
- Ability to use standard office equipment, including computerized bar code scanners, printers, and warehouse equipment
- Basic math and reasoning skills
- Excellent work ethic and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment under supervision
- Ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization and request assistance when needed
- Ability to frequently lift/move up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, pull, and push during the entire work shift
- Ability to climb stair/step ladders up to 16 steps
Qualifications
- Forklift certification is a plus
- Previous experience driving a van or truck is preferred
