About the Role

Works in the Raw Goods or Finished Goods warehouse in support of Supply Chain, Production, and/or Customer Service. The primary focus is to support the Supply Chain and Production by receiving, storing, moving, and distributing material/product, and/or to support Customer Service by moving, packaging, and shipping orders for customers.

Responsibilities

Raw Goods

  • Reads production schedule, work order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
  • Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line
  • Conveys materials and items from Raw Goods to Production areas or to other designated areas
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code
  • Marks materials with identifying information
  • Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed
  • Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards
  • Arranges materials in specified sequence for use by other workers
  • Uses computer, barcode scanner, and/or other devices to record material transactions
  • Drives vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment
  • Maintains inventory records on paper and/or in ERP system
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Finished Goods

  • Reads customer order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or packaged for distribution
  • Conveys product and items from production areas to storage or to other designated areas
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code
  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station
  • Uses computer, barcode scanner, and/or other devices to record material transactions
  • Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications
  • Drives vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment
  • Prepares parcels for mailing

  • Supports Warehouse Supervisor in any/all warehouse activities and programs necessary for developing the desired company culture

Performance Standards

  • Receiving Logs: Kept current/accurate and in compliance with accepted department standards; documents delivered to warehouse manager for reconciliation
  • Shipping Logs: Kept current/accurate and in compliance with accepted department standards; logs/shipping documents delivered to warehouse manager for reconciliation
  • Attendance: Minimal missed shifts; open communication with department manager
  • What You Do and How You Act: Leadership and contribution to overall success of Sauer Brands, Inc.
  • Personal Effectiveness: Meeting timelines and productivity requirements (quantity and quality of work)

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree from college or technical school preferred
  • 3–5 years of prior experience or training preferred; equivalent combination of schooling and experience accepted
  • Proven experience and ability to drive electric forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Able to lift 30 pounds repeatedly
