Essential Responsibilities/Requirements
- Must possess an understanding of HVO safety rules for warehouse work
- Be able to operate/use material handling equipment (i.e. fork truck, lifts, stackers, wrappers, etc.)
- Perform safety checks and inspections on equipment, as needed
- Wear appropriate PPE, seat belts and harnesses
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks, vans, trailers and other vehicles
- Use internal inventory management system (ERP) to process and track all materials/goods
- Inventory movements
- Choose proper locations for storage
- Material requests from all departments
- Perform warehouse inventory controls to maintain proper inventory levels
- Accurate inventory movements
- Pick requested materials for internal customers
- Organize and maintain inventory levels
- Verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments
- Verify accuracy of warehouse stock
- Inspect/examine products, components and materials for defects/quality concerns
- Inspect outbound trailers for varying degrees of defects and suitability
- Assist in ensuring a safe and clean warehouse
- Carry out weekly and monthly cleaning requirements
- Operate packaging tools/equipment to assure products are secured for shipment
- Safely drive company vehicles for material deliveries and general responsibilities; including company box truck
- Perform safety checks and inspections on vehicles, as needed
- Must have a valid driver's license to drive company truck
- Be able to fuel trucks when needed
- Follow quality standards and comply with company procedures, policies and regulations
- Work with Quality personnel with disposition/handling of products
- Communicate and cooperate with supervisors, managers and coworkers
- Receive ground deliveries (UPS, Fedex, etc) and maintain a log of incoming receptions
- Answer phones and provide information to both internal and external customers
- Possess computer skills and use various software platforms
- Participate in ongoing training, as directed
- Contribute ideas to improve efficiencies, processes, procedures, etc.
- Be able to work overtime, as needed.
- Perform non-routine tasks as directed by manager/supervisor
- Contribute to a positive work environment by being a role model to fellow employees and displaying a positive attitude and willingness to work through challenging situations.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must possess valid North Carolina driver's license
- Must be able to maintain appropriate licensing, credentials and acceptable driving record
- Must maintain HVO required vehicle insurance levels
- Must be able to use a computer
- Must be able to use company email
- Must be able to use company inventory management system
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, or carry; reach with hands and arms
- The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance or stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Regularly required to lift 10 lbs. and up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to safely tolerate heat in the summer and cold in the winter.
- Required to work on equipment that will be operating at various heights, approximately 10-20' from ground level.
- Required to perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner.
