Warehouse Assistant

Responsibilities

• Moving furniture in the warehouse and onto/off the sales floor.
• Auxiliary tasks such as donation pickup and delivery.
• Mentoring, coaching, and directing students from Outreach’s job training program, the Employment Opportunity Center.
• Assisting the Warehouse Manager with general warehouse activities, including janitorial and yard maintenance tasks.
• Furniture assembly activities, such as tables, bedframes, and flat-boxed items.
• Serving as a backup driver.

Requirements

• Minimum of high school diploma required.
• Class C driving license preferred.
• 2 to 3 years of warehouse experience.
• 2 to 3 years of customer service experience.
• Previous furniture moving experience.
• Previous small truck driving experience.
• Strong customer service skills and professional communication.
• Ability to lift and move large-sized furniture independently (up to 60 lbs).
• Additional physical requirements include bending, kneeling, walking, standing, and lifting for long periods.
• Basic computer and software skills.
• Valid IL driver’s license, auto insurance, and good driving record are required.
• A commitment to Outreach's Statement of Mission & Faith.
