About the Role
The Warehouse Assistant supports daily warehouse operations by assisting in inventory handling, shipping, receiving, and facility organization. This hands-on role is essential in maintaining the flow of goods, equipment, and supplies within the warehouse and supporting the Operations Manager in delivering efficient, accurate, and compliant service to internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Open and close warehouse facility according to operational schedules.
- Receive, inspect, sort, and record all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Ensure all inventory is properly checked in, processed, and placed in the correct locations.
- Operate warehouse equipment, including forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, and box truck as needed.
- Support compliance with customer requirements for handling, packing, and delivery.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and safety in the warehouse.
- Monitor and assist in staging, loading, and delivering materials.
- Track and support warehouse performance metrics and improvements.
- Communicate professionally with vendors, contractors, customers, and internal staff.
- Assist the Operations Manager in resolving on-site issues and escalating concerns when needed.
- Understand DOT and basic logistics requirements to assist with route planning and compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of warehouse and operational goals.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1–2 years in a warehouse, shipping/receiving, or logistics support role preferred
- Equipment operation certification (forklift, etc.) a plus
Experience & Exposure
- Hands-on warehouse operations and logistics workflows
- Interaction with third-party vendors, drivers, and contractors
- Physical labor including lifting, driving, and equipment handling
- Familiarity with shipping/receiving software, safety procedures, and DOT basics

- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced warehouse setting
- Attention to detail and ownership of inventory accuracy and shipment quality
- Dependability and professionalism in supporting daily warehouse operations
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 lbs or more
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, bending, stooping, and climbing
- Operation of warehouse vehicles and equipment
- Must meet all company safety expectations and comply with PPE usage
- May be required to drive company vehicles for local deliveries
