About the role

The Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC) seeks an individual to manage the operations of minimum security and/or work release facilities. This role involves managing programs and operations, overseeing staff, and ensuring compliance with departmental policies.

Responsibilities

• Provides overall management of facility operations.
• Directs programs and operations of the facility, including contractual entities.
• Manages operational and performance of contractual entities and vendor management.
• Selects, trains, and evaluates staff performance.
• Coordinates program operations with other central office divisions.
• Manages facility budget.
• Ensures appropriate and effective management of offenders.
• Partners with various groups on outreach programs regarding facility operations.
• Recruits, selects, onboards, and trains employees.
• Sets expectations, measures progress, provides ongoing feedback, and evaluates employee performance.
• Ensures work adheres to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license.
• Broad knowledge of correctional law, regulations, and court decisions.
• Advanced knowledge of treatment, rehabilitation, and resocialization methods and operations.
• Advanced knowledge of public administration principles.
• Ability to manage and direct programs and activities of a facility.
• Ability to handle unprecedented challenges in a correctional facility.
• Ability to delegate work, set clear direction, and manage workflow.
• Ability to give feedback, provide guidance or corrective action, coach, and develop employee skillsets.
• Minimum of 10+ years of experience, including 5 years in a team lead, project lead, or supervisory capacity.
• High School Diploma or HSE and at least 10+ years of experience may be considered.
• Completion of relevant education degree(s) may substitute for equivalent years of experience.
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Pay and Schedule
