About the role
The Building Maintenance Technician is a full-time union position responsible for performing advanced preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on building systems, mechanical equipment, electrical systems, and facility infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable, and uninterrupted facility operations. This senior-level role works independently, troubleshoots complex equipment issues, and supports operational excellence throughout the facility.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair building systems: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fire protection, and BAS
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on assigned equipment
- Complete work orders and keep maintenance records/logs up to date
- Respond to service calls and emergencies, including some after-hours/on-call support
- Support facility projects (installs, upgrades, repairs) and coordinate with vendors onsite
- Track spare parts/supplies and flag reorder needs
- Follow safety protocols (LOTO, OSHA, confined space, fall protection)
- Mentor junior technicians and share best practices
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (trade school a plus)
- 5+ years of commercial/industrial maintenance experience
- Strong HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical knowledge
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manuals
- CMMS experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license
Schedule
Full-time second shift position supporting 24/7 airport operations, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
