Responsibilities

• Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room; take food and beverages in an efficient manner, following established steps of service
• Deliver food promptly and professionally; maintain safe food handling and sanitation standards
• Follow up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests
• Demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients; advise guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks when requested
• Accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences; demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed
• Communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated
• Exhibit exceptional communications skills and demonstrate ability to get along well with others; remain flexible and patient when communicating with guests and staff
• Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
• Promote a clean, safe and neat environment for guests
• Maintain a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information that is shared
• Promptly address complaints or issues; relay relevant information or complaints directly to supervisor
• Ensure the dining room is properly set up prior to and after the service period; keep area clean and neat while meeting established sanitation standards
• Operate a variety of equipment, including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines
• Work with staff of other departments to perform job duties during special events and functions
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Two years of serving or catering experience is preferred (willing to train)
• Abide by all company policies and procedures including use of cut gloves when handling knives/peelers/choppers/mandolins or cleaning a slicer; use of oven mitts, fryer gloves or steamer gloves when handling hot pans; use of slip-resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques

Pay

$5.00 per hour to $8.50 per hour

Schedule

Part time; Tuesday through Friday, lunch and dinner shift, or Saturday and Sunday, brunch shift. More details upon interview.
