Waiter/Bartender
About the role

Responsibilities
- Set up and clean up services for various catering functions as assigned by the catering management.
- Maintain, stock, and inventory catering storage, liquor cabinet storage, and set-up area.
- Provide service during catered functions, serving guests according to the contract requirements.
- Manage bar service, ensuring a constant flow of service and maintaining stocked supplies.
- Aid in other areas of party service as necessary or requested by supervisor or manager.
- Notify manager or supervisor of any issues, such as spills or shortages.
- Clean bar and room at the end of the party, removing dirty or used equipment and preparing for removal.
- Count and note liquor and soda usage on the post-party bar inventory sheet.
- Return contracts to supervisor or manager promptly.
- Ensure the room is returned to its original setup and notify the manager or supervisor of any defective equipment or hazardous conditions.
- Perform related tasks as assigned by supervisor and/or manager.
- Pick up bread orders and other requisition supplies as needed.
- Deliver supplies to other areas of the medical center as directed by manager or supervisor.
- Maintain soda and linen room, locker room, and catering offices in a neat and clean fashion.
- Notify the manager or supervisor if supplies or linens need to be reordered.
- Attend training and education sessions as required.
- Set up and prepare items necessary for the catered function.
- Review contracts for the day and obtain clarification from supervisor or manager of any unclear or unexplained areas.
- Assemble necessary supplies based on the contract (e.g., making coffee, putting cookies or danishes on trays).
- Count quantities and notify supervisor or manager of results if liquor or soda is provided.
- Set up function room as required by contract.
- Drain tables or put out placemats, set up place settings, check all supplies, wipe silverware, check glassware and china for cleanliness or defects, and replace them if necessary.
- Check condiments, table decorations, and equipment to ensure they are proper and available.
- Pick up food supplies from kitchen at pick-up time noted on contract and review contract to make sure all food ordered is provided by kitchen.
- Prepare all items necessary for use at bar, assemble necessary glass or plastic ware, napkins, ice buckets, ice containers, stirrers, ice tongs, trays, shakers, and if necessary blenders.
- Prepare condiments and snacks for bar, slice lemons, limes, cherries, olives, and onions, arrange bitters, Worcestershire sauce, and orange and tomato juice appropriately.
- Take all supplies, equipment, beverages, condiments, service ware, ice, and snakes (nuts, pretzels, chips if ordered) to function room and set up bar area.
Qualifications
- Prior catering or restaurant service experience.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Ability to understand and carry out simple oral and written instructions.
- Minimum of two years experience in a catering or restaurant service environment.

Pay
The salary range for the role is $27.44 - $27.44 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
