About the role

This position is located within the Fort Gordon Business Operations Division. Works under close supervision of the banquet supervisor or leader who provides specific instruction for tasks to be performed. This position is basically waiter work, with fewer procedural requirements than those involved in restaurant, cafe or bar operations.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine duties of servicing banquets either by providing for set menu banquets or taking individual orders
• Involved in setting up and breaking down banquet settings and replenishing beverages
• Stands, walks, and stoops and stretches, usually for long periods of time, handling food and beverage trays and food containers, seldom weighing more than 40 pounds

Requirements

• Must meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check
• Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service
• Satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-15, para. 2
• Must meet the state/local age requirement (18 years old) for the serving of alcoholic beverages, if alcoholic beverages are served
• Work primarily indoors in areas that usually have adequate light and ventilation
• Danger of slipping on wet or polished floors
• May occasionally work outdoors during seasonal functions
• Must be available nights, weekends and holidays

Qualifications

• No prior training or work experience required
• Must be able to follow simple oral and/or written instructions
