Wage Claims Investigator
About the role
The Deputy Labor Commissioner Supervisor (Senior Deputy) directs investigations of claims to evaluate compliance with labor laws. The Deputy Labor Commissioner I independently investigates claims, resolves disputes, gathers facts, and educates the public on labor laws.
Responsibilities
- Interviews workers and holds settlement conferences to resolve disputes before formal adjudication.
- Evaluates violations and educates the public on labor laws.
- Enforces wage and hour laws within the WCA program.
Requirements

Qualifications
Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications as outlined in the Classification Specification. Specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees may face a salary reduction effective July 1, 2025.
