About the role
This position is for night shift on AWS shift 7pm-7:30am.
Responsibilities
- Monitor chemical consumption of assigned tooling/areas and replenish as needed.
- Remove chemical waste and empty containers from equipment for proper disposal.
- Following documented procedures, will be required to select, measure, dispense, mix and deliver materials to the manufacturing line.
- Set up laboratory equipment and instrumentation for tests, research, and process control.
- Test and analyze products to determine strength, stability, purity, chemical content, and other characteristics.
- Document results of tests, analyses, and displays in SPC charts.
- Once trained, will be expected to work independently with little oversight or direction.
Qualifications
- Candidate must be flexible to work a 12-hour AWS Shift and overtime, as required by the team.
- Significant amount of standing, walking, carrying, and lifting.
- Ability to lift 10 pounds often and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Use of personal protective equipment, such as gloves, aprons and eye protection when executing certain tasks is required, as well as working in a cleanroom environment where production tools are located.
- When in the cleanroom, full gown including hood, mask, booties, bunny suit, etc must be worn.
- This position requires exceptional attention to detail, careful precision, and the ability to handle a variety of sensitive/hazardous materials safely.
- Must have strong written/oral communication skills and be technically competent.
- Willingness to commit to a substantial training process.
- An Associate’s Degree in Biology or Chemistry, or a high school education with 2 years of college in a related scientific discipline is preferred. Willing to train a motivated candidate with limited or related experience.
Skills
- Must be a self-starter, hands-on worker that can learn technical details quickly.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory chemicals and chemical handling procedures.
- Ability to follow documented procedures and make accurate chemical solutions.
- Must possess good computer skills and be familiar with Microsoft Excel.
- Proven ability to work on complex assignments, manage several projects at once, and keep good written documentation of activities.
- Fundamental knowledge in the area of Titrations, Extractions, Surface Tension, XRF, pH Readings, and general chemical mixing procedures is preferred.
- Familiarity with use of common laboratory equipment such as: Spectro Titan XRF Tool, Mettler DL70ES Titrator, Orion pH meters, Agilent 8453, or equivalent is preferred.
Pay
Salary Range: $43,200.00-57,600.00
