WA Highways and Roads Market Sector Leader
About the role
We are seeking a WA Area Highway and Roadway Market Sector Leader to join our team. This role collaborates with the Area Roadway Business Class Lead for Roadway group management, identifies and develops new clients, and serves as a client manager and project manager for key clients in the area.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Area Roadway Business Class Lead for Roadway group management.
- Collaborate with the Structures, Traffic, and Roadway Business Class Leads for pursuit strategy and project delivery.
- Identify and develop new clients for HDR.
- Collaborate with regional and national Market Sector Directors and facilitate knowledge /best practice transfer, and staff workshare to support pursuits/projects.
- Serve as a client manager and project manager for key clients in the area.
- Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of key projects to support a positive client experience.
- Assess the marketplace and determine the best approach to secure contracts.
- Promote the marketing and delivery of all HDR services to clients.
- Develop and implement market sector growth initiatives in partnership with leadership and client service managers.
- Work with pursuit teams to develop client and pursuit strategies based on proven capture techniques.
- Participate in industry associations and community organizations to elevate HDR's brand in target markets.
- Identify key investments (talent, acquisitions and technology) to improve our industry leadership position.
- Partner with leadership on recruiting key talent.
- Monitor market sector performance indicators, including NFE, NFB, profits, positive equity, AR, losses and investments.
- Achieve Area Market Sector NFB Goals.
- Engage the appropriate project management and technical talent in pursuit teams.
- Support pursuit teams in developing persuasive proposal and interview materials.
- Perform quality reviews of proposal and interview materials.
- Facilitate debriefs to identify improvement opportunities and to measure overall competitiveness.
- Recognize and celebrate pursuit successes and milestones.
- Support the development of content marketing campaigns to strengthen our brand, increase our visibility, and showcase our thought leaders.
Requirements
- If an engineer, maintain engineering registration.
- 5+ years of Project Management Experience (Scope, Schedule, Budget).
- Experience managing projects for clients in WA.
- Experience delivering projects with traffic signals, structures, and roadways/highways.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering, planning or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of industry experience.
- Experienced in development and management of strategic marketing programs for planning and/or engineering services.
- Experienced in development and management of a wide range of client relationships and specific program and/or project pursuits.
- Experienced in overall staff development to include recruiting, career path and professional growth.
- Experienced with industry associations and maintains a visible profile in the market sector.
- Experienced working cooperatively with Regional Market Sector Directors, Market Sector Directors, Business Class Directors, Regional Business Group Directors, Area Business Group Managers, Area Marketing Managers and Area Managers.

Pay
The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. For Bellevue/Seattle/Everett, WA: $182,448- $260,640; Spokane, WA: $144,438- $206,340; Olympia, WA: $152,040- $217,200.
