WA-APP INDUSTRIAL LABORER JOURNEYPERSON
Primary Function
The Skilled Laborer employee is responsible for the operations associated with picking, maintenance, quality control and equipment operations while ensuring that all his/her efforts are compliant with the company Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
Duties
- Actively supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its Core Values.

- Ability to oversee and train apprentices in the field.
- Receives and understands instructions regarding work assignment in shop and field.
- Selects materials according to suitability for job engineering standards.
- Makes field sketches and measurements on repair and construction jobs.
- Uses wrenches, air hammer, dolly, portable drills, reamers, grinders and burning torch for fitting and bolting assemblies.
- Uses block and tackle, hoist, and winches, for handling heavy assemblies.
- Performs bolting or otherwise connects or fastens beams, plates, channels, angles and shapes.
- Uses block and tackle, hoist, and winches, for handling heavy assemblies.
- Performs general clean up and yard maintenance and is exposed to all weather conditions.
- Hand signals cranes as required.
- Familiar with shop equipment such as rolls, sheers, drill presses, band saws, etc.
- Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
- May be required to train and supervise apprentices.
- Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervision.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years or more in refinery maintenance/turnaround/or construction experience.
- General knowledge of basic hand tools.
- Must be able to pass the Industrial Laborer Skills Test at or above 70% or complete the NCCER certification for your craft.
- Completed Matrix Service Safety training, Process Safety Management training, and Client / Site specific training.
- MUST have TWIC card.
- Verification of 6,000 craft related hours.
Pay
We operate under a range-based compensation system. The typical hiring range for this position in Washington is $30.00 to $34.51 per hour. Full range for this position, available over time, is $30.00 to $69.62 per hour.

This position operates in a refinery setting and is exposed to all weather conditions. Personal safety equipment is provided by the company.
