Laborer
Major Job Responsibilities/Duties
- Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits
- Operate machinery used in the production process or assist machine operators
- Inspect materials and sort items or materials into piles or places in bins or barrels according to type, size, condition, coloring marking or other characteristics
- Load and unload items from machines, conveyors and conveyances
- Clean and lubricate equipment
- Sweeps and shovels residual waste from process
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) or related experience.
Physical Demands
- Regularly stand and use hands to finger, handle, and feel
- Frequent reaching with hands and arms; climbing or balancing
- Occasional talking or hearing
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
Work Environment
- Usually loud noise level in the work environment
