W2 contract || Jira Administrator

About the role

This is a 12+ month W2 contract position located in Austin, TX, requiring onsite presence from day one, with a minimum of 10+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Jira Platform Administration: Manage and evolve Jira Cloud configurations, ensuring platform scalability, governance, and alignment with enterprise operating models.
• Workflow Design & Automation: Design and implement end-to-end workflows and build advanced automations to reduce manual intervention and improve cycle time.
• Scripting & Integration: Develop and maintain scripts using tools such as ScriptRunner (Groovy), REST APIs, and enable integrations across the toolchain.
• Agentic AI Enablement: Design and implement AI-assisted workflows and decision agents, including intelligent triage assignment, automated work classification, and context-aware recommendations.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience as a Jira Administrator (Cloud preferred)
• Deep expertise in workflow configuration, schemes, and permissions
• Strong scripting experience with Groovy (ScriptRunner), Python, or similar
• Experience with REST API integrations and toolchain integrations (e.g., GitHub, CI/CD systems)
• Proven ability to manage multi-team / multi-org Jira environments

Qualifications

• Experience implementing AI-driven workflow automation
• Familiarity with Agentic AI concepts (autonomous agents, orchestration frameworks, LLM integration)
• Prompt engineering or AI workflow design experience
• Exposure to large-scale software delivery environments (Agile / SAFe) and enterprise data models and taxonomy design
