Job Purpose
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the warehouse to include scheduling departmental hours of operation, inbound and outbound loading, overseeing inventory control, managing the maintenance of warehouse equipment and warehouse housekeeping. The person in this position should drive improvements through change and demonstrate their ability to think outside of the box. The manager will assign priorities for all aspects of production, to include labor, documentation/time requirements and customer demands.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Daily
- Ensures all local drivers have their freight loaded.
- Processes all paperwork from the previous day and distribute to proper departments.
- Keeps track of warehouse customers' inventory via computer and physical counts.
- Works with third party logistics to ensure customers' needs are met or exceeded.
- Schedules outside carriers to pick up warehouse customers orders as directed by customers.
- Manages warehouse personnel and schedules, ensures proper training of all warehouse employees and handles employee relation issues.
- Ensures that procedures for warehouse customers are properly carried out.
- Retains dock procedures for RJW customers.
- Manages warehouse space and ensures cleanliness at all times.
- Handles billing of all warehouse customers with the exception of Klockner.
- Provides production/labor planning with supervisors and leads on a daily basis as well as status updates to ensure labor needs and best practices.
- Performs facility AIB walk-throughs daily.
- Maintains daily productivity levels in the department.
- Approves FTE's/temp time and attendance; monitors attendance and overtime.
- Communicates with warehouse supervisors to ensure labor needs and best practices are being met.
- Weekly
- Maintains equipment maintenance.
- Attends all strategic leadership meetings on a weekly basis.
- Monthly
- KPI Tracking.
- Quarterly
- Performs performance reviews, sets team goals and projects forecasting in a timely manner.
- Participates in P&L review.
Qualifications
- Must be able to communicate, read, write, and speak English.
- 5 or more years of Warehouse Management experience.
- Ability to report/track trending and historical data.
- Strong business writing and case analysis skills.
- Advance math and financial skills a must.
- Experience in Inventory Control, Transportation Warehouse.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, (Excel, Access, Visio and Power Point), data entry and general computer abilities.
- Experience In Warehouse Safety And Safety Training.
- College Degree Preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons.
- Must be articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
- Frequently required to sit and/or use repetitive hand motion.
- Frequently required to talk, hear, stand and walk.
- Must be able to work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.
- Must be able to work under stressful situations, have good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time.
- Must have the ability to read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.
- Must hear speech out of both ears in the normal range of 30db at 500 to 2000 Hz range.
- Must be able to speak and communicate clearly over telephones.
- Must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances.
- Ensures all local drivers have their freight loaded.
