Position Summary

The W+D Lead Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting W+D envelope production systems to ensure efficient, high-quality output. This role oversees the converting and printing process to deliver accurate, personalized mail packages while minimizing waste and downtime. The Lead Operator partners closely with the production team to optimize workflows, meet deadlines, and maintain strict quality and safety standards.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot W+D envelope production systems, ensuring smooth workflow and maximum productivity.
• Manage converting and printing processes to produce envelopes for letter packages with minimal touchpoints and waste.
• Manage the flexographic press integrated with the W+D system to apply high-quality print and finishes as part of the production process.
• Perform regular checks to ensure product quality and compliance with customer specifications.
• Work closely with the production team to meet deadlines, optimize workflows, and improve processes.
• Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating W+D or similar envelope converting systems preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain complex machinery.
• Able to ensure precision and quality in a fast-paced production environment.
• Able to diagnose and resolve mechanical and workflow issues effectively.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with team members.
• Able to guide coworkers in equipment maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
