VVFS Regional Coordinator

About the Role

The Virginia Department of Veteran Services (DVS) is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to serve as the Regional Coordinator in the VA Veterans & Family Support (VVFS) department. The Regional Coordinator (RC) acts as the region team lead, supporting team members with care coordination consultation, regional case triage, resource development, and training related to resource development and best practices in supportive services. The RC identifies the behavioral health, rehabilitative, and other service needs of service members, veterans, and their dependents/family members (SMVF). The RC also works directly with clients to develop coordinated services plans, connect individuals with appropriate service providers, offer care coordination support, and monitor successful resolution of identified needs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the region team lead and support team members with care coordination consultation and regional case triage.
  • Develop resources and deliver regional training on resource development and best practices in supportive services.
  • Identify the behavioral health, rehabilitative, and other service needs of service members, veterans, and their dependents/family members (SMVF).
  • Work directly with clients to develop coordinated services plans and connect them with appropriate service providers.
  • Provide care coordination support and monitor the successful resolution of identified needs.
  • Engage with the SMVF population, develop professional relationships, and advocate for individuals receiving services.
  • Collaborate with federal, state, and local officials, as well as public and private providers, to serve the SMVF community.
  • Deliver public speaking and subject matter trainings.
  • Coach, motivate, and lead teams while managing a high volume of work.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with military services, culture, and/or military experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of suicide interventions and mandatory reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate (written and oral) clearly and effectively.
  • Experience in public speaking and delivery of subject matter trainings.
  • Ability to engage the SMVF population, develop professional relationships, and advocate for those receiving services.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, motivate, and lead teams while managing a high volume of work.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of human services, behavioral health, rehabilitative, and other support service systems for veterans and their families.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of federal, state, and local officials, including public and private providers.

Qualifications

  • Work experience in the human services and/or behavioral healthcare field is required.
  • Related field or combination of education, training, or experience may substitute for work experience.
  • Experience in social work, psychology, human services, education, or an approved field is preferred.
  • Military/veteran/family-related life or work experience is preferred.
  • Military experience (including family members) is preferred.

Pay

Hiring range: $60,000 - $70,000
