About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic VPK Teacher to provide high-quality instruction in a structured, nurturing classroom Catholic environment. The VPK Teacher is responsible for implementing the VPK curriculum to support school readiness in literacy, math, social-emotional development, and early learning skills in alignment with state standards.
Responsibilities
- Create a safe, positive, and engaging classroom environment
- Support children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development
- Maintain accurate documentation, assessments, and attendance as required by VPK guidelines
- Conduct and track child assessments (such as readiness or progress monitoring tools)
- Establish and maintain effective communication with parents and guardians
- Supervise children at all times, including during classroom activities, meals, and outdoor play
- Collaborate with teaching assistants and administrative staff
- Follow all licensing, safety, and VPK program requirements
Qualifications
- Knowledge of CLASS
- Current or able to attain VPK certification and training, as required by the state
- CDA preferred but not required
- Experience teaching preschool or prekindergarten-aged children
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and classroom management
- Patient, energetic, and dependable
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
