Home/Hospital Teacher

Responsibilities

• Facilitate learning and provide direct instruction for student unable to attend school
• Maintain communication with school and parents on student progress
• Travel to student's home to provide one‑on‑one instruction

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a job‑related area
• Washington State Teaching Certificate and meet WA State Certification Criteria
• Relates well with students, parents and peers
• Willingness and ability to work in a team environment
• Willingness and ability to work at district and building level in developing curriculum
• Enthusiastic, creative and resourceful motivator of students
• Willingness to work with students outside the classroom environment
• Present a neat, clean, professional appearance at all times
• Goal‑oriented (both long‑range and short‑range)

Grandview School District is a rural and innovative district offering a wide variety of academic programs and services. It serves over 3,800 students, 92% of whom are Hispanic, and is located in the lower Yakima Valley, a productive agricultural region noted for fruit, wine and hop production. The community enjoys over 300 days of sunshine per year.

Work Environment

• Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling
• Some climbing and balancing
• Some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling
• Some fine finger dexterity
• Performed under minimal temperature variations in a generally hazard‑free environment

Schedule

6 hours per week; temporary position for the 2026‑2027 school year.
