About the Role

This is a business-side FP&A transformation role within a large, complex financial services organization, focused on modernizing and strengthening statutory capital reporting, analysis, and forecasting capabilities. The individual will partner closely with senior Finance and Capital stakeholders to understand how capital processes work today, identify the underlying business and regulatory requirements, and translate those requirements into solutions that Technology and data teams can execute against. The role sits at the intersection of Finance and ultimately affects statutory capital.

A key part of the mandate is helping evolve capital capabilities that have historically relied on complex or fragmented processes—including legal-entity capital projections, historical statutory and capital reporting, portfolio runoff analysis, and regulatory projections—into more scalable, transparent, and sustainable solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior Capital and Finance stakeholders to understand existing statutory capital processes, models, data flows, and reporting requirements.
  • Translate complex insurance, actuarial, statutory, and capital concepts into clear business requirements for Technology and data teams.
  • Support the transformation and enhancement of legal-entity capital projection and forecasting capabilities.
  • Analyze and help articulate the capital implications of changes in the investment portfolio, asset runoff, actuarial results, tax, and other financial drivers.
  • Bring together data and requirements across Investments, General Ledger, Actuarial, Tax, and statutory reporting to support quarterly capital analysis and reporting.
  • Help define requirements for improved data warehousing, historical analysis, controls, and reporting around statutory and capital information.
  • Support specialized capital projections and analyses required for regulatory filings and senior management decision-making.
  • Challenge existing processes by asking the right questions, understanding the "why" behind current methodologies, and identifying opportunities to simplify or improve them.
  • Build credibility with senior subject-matter experts and serve as an effective bridge between Finance and Technology throughout the transformation.

Requirements

The strongest candidate will bring experience in insurance capital, statutory reporting, actuarial finance, FP&A, or a closely related insurance finance discipline, combined with strong business analysis and transformation capabilities. This is not primarily a technology or coding role; experience with data, analytics, Python, AI, or financial modeling is valuable, but the priority is someone who understands the underlying business and can translate that knowledge into requirements and improved processes.

Success will require intellectual curiosity, strong communication skills, comfort operating in ambiguity, and the ability to engage credibly with senior Finance, Capital, and Actuarial stakeholders while driving work forward across functional and technology teams.
