About the Role

Our client is seeking a Vice President of Sales to lead all commercial sales activities across the United States and Canada. Reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer, this executive will drive profitable revenue growth, expand market share, strengthen customer relationships, and develop a high-performing sales organization.

This leader will oversee a geographically dispersed team of sales and technical professionals while executing a strategic go-to-market approach across equipment, consumables, services, and solution-based offerings. The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of commercial leadership, strategic thinking, operational discipline, and experience leading complex B2B sales organizations within packaging, printing, industrial manufacturing, or related markets.

Responsibilities

  • Commercial Strategy & Business Growth
    • Develop and execute the North American sales strategy in alignment with company growth objectives.
    • Establish sales goals, market priorities, customer segmentation strategies, and resource allocation plans.
    • Drive profitable revenue growth across equipment, consumables, services, and technology solutions.
    • Identify emerging market opportunities, competitive threats, and strategic growth initiatives.
    • Serve as a key member of the commercial leadership team and contribute to broader business strategy.
  • Sales Leadership & Team Development
    • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Regional Sales Directors, technical sales leaders, and equipment sales professionals.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, customer focus, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Establish performance expectations, talent development programs, and succession planning initiatives.
    • Recruit, retain, and develop top-performing sales and technical talent.
    • Create a disciplined operating cadence focused on pipeline management, forecasting, territory planning, and business reviews.
  • Revenue Growth & Strategic Account Management
    • Lead execution of strategic account initiatives and major growth opportunities across North America.
    • Build executive-level relationships with key customers and engage directly in complex negotiations.
    • Drive consultative and value-based selling strategies centered on quality improvements, productivity gains, and operational efficiencies.
    • Expand customer penetration through cross-selling, multi-site agreements, and long-term partnerships.
    • Support new market development efforts and competitive conversion opportunities.
  • Forecasting & Performance Management
    • Own forecast accuracy, pipeline health, and revenue predictability across the business.
    • Utilize CRM systems and analytics to drive visibility into sales performance and market trends.
    • Monitor key performance metrics and implement corrective actions where necessary.
    • Ensure effective territory management and opportunity coverage across the organization.
    • Present business reviews, forecasts, and performance updates to executive leadership.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership
    • Partner closely with Marketing, Product Management, Operations, Technical Services, Customer Support, and Supply Chain teams to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
    • Align sales initiatives with operational capabilities and demand planning processes.
    • Support product launches, pricing strategies, and market expansion initiatives.
    • Drive alignment across equipment, consumables, services, and technical solution offerings.
  • Industry & Customer Engagement
    • Represent the organization at key industry events, trade associations, customer meetings, and conferences.
    • Build strong relationships across packaging converters, label manufacturers, distributors, trade shops, and other industry stakeholders.
    • Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs, market dynamics, and competitive activity.
    • Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to customers throughout the industry.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience within flexographic printing, packaging, labels, corrugated, prepress, or related industrial markets.
  • Strong understanding of both capital equipment and consumable-driven business models.
  • Proven success leading large, geographically dispersed sales organizations.
  • Experience driving commercial excellence, sales process optimization, or organizational transformation initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success managing strategic national accounts and channel partner relationships.
