About the Role

A member of the executive team, the Vice President of Development & Marketing will lead an integrated strategy that strengthens the organization's visibility, expands community engagement, and diversifies revenue. This executive will oversee comprehensive fundraising strategy, marketing and communications, grants strategy, community partnerships, grassroots fundraising, and campus activation. The ideal candidate is a strategic, relationship-oriented leader who enjoys building partnerships, telling compelling stories, and creating sustainable revenue opportunities that advance mission impact.

Responsibilities

  • Lead organization-wide marketing, communications, and brand strategy to elevate Hanna Center's visibility and community impact
  • Direct the full lifecycle of institutional grants, including prospect research, proposal development, compliance, reporting, and stewardship
  • Build and strengthen relationships with foundations, corporations, government agencies, and community partners
  • Oversee grassroots fundraising initiatives and donor communications that strengthen engagement and long-term support
  • Provide executive leadership for campus initiatives that generate earned revenue and expand community engagement
  • Partner with program and development leadership to align funding opportunities with organizational priorities
  • Supervise marketing, grants, and community engagement staff while establishing performance goals and departmental budgets
  • Represent Hanna Center throughout the community while serving as a key member of the executive leadership team

Qualifications

  • 7–10+ years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit development, marketing, communications, grants management, or community engagement
  • Demonstrated success securing and managing foundation, corporate, and government grants
  • Experience developing and executing strategic marketing and communications initiatives
  • Proven ability to build community partnerships and lead donor engagement strategies
  • Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams and managing organizational budgets
  • Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills
  • Experience with CRM or donor management systems such as Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, or similar platforms preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • Experience working with youth-serving, trauma-informed, or community-based organizations is highly desirable

Pay & Schedule

  • Salary range: $150,000 - $170,000 (+ eligibility for bonus)
  • Schedule: 40 hours/week
  • Location: Sonoma, CA (Onsite)
  • Duration: Permanent – Direct Hire
