About the Role

Provide leadership and coordination of Business Unit’s sales and marketing functions. Develop and implement sales and marketing strategy in coordination with the unit’s strategic plan. Monitor and analyze sales and marketing activity against goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the annual sales and marketing plan, including profitability and growth targets for product, sales, and margin in coordination with other unit Vice Presidents.
  • Create marketing and sales strategies for company product offerings, including identifying new customer targets.
  • Analyze potential market threats and opportunities, developing strategies to navigate them successfully.
  • Research and develop strategies and plans for marketing opportunities, direct marketing, and new project/product development.
  • Determine strategic pricing levels by maintaining thorough knowledge of the current customer base, competitor strategies, and market conditions.
  • Provide education, training, direction, and leadership to a team of outside sales professionals to ensure sales strategies are developed and met.
  • Lead the sales force in developing new business opportunities at new and existing targeted accounts.
  • Supervise the planning and development of company marketing and communications materials.
  • Provide education, training, and leadership to other functional areas within the Business Unit, including Inside Sales, Contract Administration, Quality Services, and the Marketing Team, ensuring product standards and customer needs are met while maintaining aggressive margin levels.
  • Establish and enforce minimum Gross Margin targets aligned with business unit ROCE and EBIT plans.
  • Drive the continual development of Value Added Services in conjunction with the Business Unit’s strategic plan.
  • Direct oversight and leadership of the Quality Services business, including P&L responsibility.
  • Meet thyssenkrupp Materials North America (TKMNA) Employee Attributes/Competencies.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of sales, marketing, and product experience.
  • Thorough product knowledge, including markets, sales, suppliers, purchasing, and inventory management.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
  • Experience structuring sales quota goals and revenue expectations.
  • Experience in planning marketing strategies, advertising campaigns, and successful public relations efforts.
  • Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
  • Typically acquired through a combination of a Master’s Degree in Marketing and ten years of experience in a senior-level sales and/or marketing position.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
