VP, Information Technology
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Vice President, Technology Services to provide strategic and operational leadership across the technology function of a regulated financial services organization. This executive-level position is responsible for developing and executing enterprise technology strategy, modernizing business processes, overseeing day-to-day IT operations, and maintaining the security, reliability, availability, and effectiveness of technology systems.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with senior and executive leadership to develop and execute short- and long-term technology strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
Develop and maintain an annual technology roadmap based on business priorities, industry standards, emerging risks, regulatory requirements, and technical best practices.
Lead technology modernization initiatives that improve business processes, operational efficiency, service delivery, and organizational capabilities.
Translate business requirements into scalable technology initiatives and oversee execution across the organization.
Evaluate emerging technologies, vendors, platforms, and service providers to determine their applicability to business and technology objectives.
Provide strategic and operational oversight of IT infrastructure, enterprise and business applications, technical support, enterprise solutions and analysis, and core financial processing systems.
Lead, develop, and mentor technology managers and team members while establishing clear expectations for accountability, collaboration, performance, and continuous improvement.
Establish technology priorities and allocate resources to maintain reliable daily operations while advancing strategic initiatives.
Oversee the implementation, performance, support, and ongoing development of digital products and technology-enabled financial services.
Ensure enterprise technology services meet organizational requirements for performance, availability, scalability, security, and user support.
Maintain the integrity, availability, reliability, and security of enterprise information systems, communications networks, technology infrastructure, and sensitive customer data.
Ensure technology operations comply with applicable federal and state regulations, data privacy requirements, cybersecurity expectations, and relevant financial-services standards.
Oversee technology risk monitoring, system performance reporting, incident management, business continuity considerations, and timely resolution of operational or security disruptions.
Partner with auditors, regulators, executive leadership, and other stakeholders regarding technology governance, cybersecurity, risk management, controls, and compliance.
Maintain appropriate technology controls, policies, processes, and standards to protect organizational information and technology assets.
Develop and manage the technology budget, staffing resources, and technology assets with an emphasis on cost effectiveness and responsible resource utilization.
Evaluate technology investments and expenditures to ensure alignment with strategic and operational priorities.
Develop and review project proposals, including business and technical requirements, resource needs, implementation considerations, timelines, risks, and staffing requirements.
Manage relationships and performance expectations with technology vendors, service providers, consultants, and other external partners.
Communicate technology strategy, performance, risks, cybersecurity posture, and major initiatives to executive leadership, governing bodies, auditors, regulators, and other key stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Business Administration, or a related discipline required. Master's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Cybersecurity, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent combinations of advanced education and relevant senior-level technology leadership experience may be considered.
Experience: Significant progressive technology leadership experience, including responsibility for both enterprise technology strategy and operational execution. Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary IT teams and technology managers within complex enterprise environments. Experience overseeing multiple technology functions such as infrastructure, enterprise applications, technical support, business systems, enterprise solutions, and core processing platforms. Proven experience developing and executing enterprise technology strategies, roadmaps, modernization programs, and major technology initiatives. Experience with technology budgeting, workforce and resource planning, vendor management, contract oversight, and project portfolio management. Strong background in information security, cybersecurity, data protection, technology risk management, disaster recovery, business continuity, and regulatory compliance. Experience implementing, managing, or supporting digital platforms and technology-enabled financial products or services. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with executive leadership, governing bodies, auditors, regulators, vendors, and cross-functional business stakeholders. Experience within financial services, banking, credit unions, or another highly regulated industry strongly preferred.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure, networking, cloud technologies, enterprise applications, data platforms, and systems architecture. Working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, information security controls, identity and access management, vulnerability management, incident response, and data protection practices. Understanding of enterprise technology governance, risk management, regulatory compliance, disaster recovery, and business continuity principles. Knowledge of core financial processing systems, digital banking or financial-services platforms, and related enterprise integrations is highly desirable. Experience evaluating technology architecture, vendor solutions, managed services, and emerging technologies from business, security, operational, and financial perspectives. Strong understanding of IT service management, systems availability, capacity planning, performance monitoring, and enterprise support operations. Ability to develop and communicate technology roadmaps, budgets, performance metrics, risk assessments, and executive-level reporting.
Certifications: Relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT, ITIL, PMP, or comparable technology, security, governance, or project management credentials are preferred. Financial-services technology or cybersecurity certifications are beneficial.
