This leadership role on the sponsorship team manages national and global partners, driving revenue and support for the League and Clubs through long-term partnerships. The Vice President will align partner priorities with league initiatives, lead a team managing partner deliverables, and oversee the creation and execution of new assets and programs. This position plays a significant role in cross-departmental projects advancing League priorities (Game, Fans, Engagement).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee one third of the League’s portfolio of 40+ national and global sponsors.
  • Manage multiple senior-level client relationships, including corporate sponsors, agencies, and marketing teams, overseeing contractual agreements.
  • Lead partner renewals with Directors and ensure the team meets NFL goals.
  • Drive upsell opportunities for existing sponsors by developing unique assets and programs tailored to client objectives.
  • Expand partnerships into all global game markets and international activations.
  • Develop partner strategy across multiple global markets, understanding cultural investment patterns and international market activity.
  • Collaborate with sponsors, agencies, and internal stakeholders to create fully integrated NFL-themed marketing programs, balancing partner goals and NFL parameters.
  • Lead Tentpole budgeting, asset creation, execution, and revenue generation (e.g., Super Bowl, Draft, Kickoff).
  • Manage a team of Directors, Managers, and Coordinators.
  • Represent the Sponsorship department in cross-departmental projects, including asset creation, policy changes, and league-wide initiatives.
  • Drive long-term retention and growth of NFL sponsors, supporting League priorities (the Game, Fans, Engagement) through sponsor activities.
  • Support the SVP on senior leadership updates and requests, including financial forecasting, business planning, Commissioner updates, and cross-departmental projects.
  • Develop senior-level communications on partner status and plans (e.g., summaries, presentations, proposals).
  • Lead communication across partner C-level executives and senior-level meetings between partners and the NFL.
  • Make final decisions on team reviews, account allocations, reporting structure, and project allocations.
  • Serve as the senior relationship point for building and maintaining client relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 15+ years’ experience in sports sponsorship.
  • Global business experience.
  • Proven track record of sales experience.
  • Client management experience.
  • Experience managing a team of direct reports.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Executive-level candidate with sponsorship experience negotiating multi-million-dollar, long-term partnerships in sports.
  • Management experience leading a team with direct reports and managing senior-level client relations.
  • Sales, strategy, creativity, communication, and financial experience.
  • Strong brand marketer with an understanding of partner categories, business, and the sports/entertainment industry.
  • Excellent communication skills and a client-service mentality, with strong sales, presentation, and creative thinking abilities.
  • Experience managing teams globally across multiple territories and time zones.
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize work, and lead a team of sponsor service staff.
  • Strong cross-functional skills and experience working in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule

  • Required to work on-site in the New York office.
  • Work will likely exceed 40 hours per week.
  • Planning and executing events, including some weekend work for hosting clients.
  • Travel around 25% of the time for planning and executing events.
  • International travel required 1-2 times per year.

Pay

Salary range: $215,000—$275,000 USD. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials, or expertise that far exceed those required, would the NFL consider paying a salary near the higher end of the range.
