Vice President Global Accounting
Position Summary: The Vice President, Global Accounting reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and serves as a key member of the Finance Leadership Team, providing strategic leadership for the Company's global accounting and financial reporting functions.
- Finance Integration & Transformation: Lead the finance integration of the recently merged organizations, ensuring the successful harmonization of accounting organizations, policies, processes, controls, reporting, and governance. Develop and execute a multi-year finance transformation roadmap focused on standardization, scalability, automation, and operational excellence. Implement and maintain a standardized global chart of accounts, accounting policies, and financial governance framework. Drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce close cycle time, automate manual processes, and improve financial data quality.
- U.S. Accounting Leadership: Lead all U.S. accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for U.S. operations while improving efficiency and quality. Build, develop, and mentor a high-performing U.S. accounting organization. Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and a strong internal control environment.
- Global Consolidation & Financial Reporting: Lead the global financial consolidation process across all legal entities. Partner with international finance teams to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent financial reporting. Prepare consolidated financial statements and executive reporting for senior leadership, lenders, owners, and the Board of Directors. Oversee foreign currency translation, consolidation adjustments, and intercompany accounting. Maintain enterprise-wide accounting policies and ensure consistent application across all global operations.
- Tech Accounting & Acquisition Integration: Serve as the Company's technical accounting leader for complex accounting matters. Lead purchase accounting, opening balance sheet validation, and post-acquisition accounting integration. Research and implement new accounting standards and provide accounting guidance on significant business transactions. Maintain accounting policy documentation and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Treasury & Debt Reporting: Lead the Company's treasury function, including cash management, liquidity planning, and short-term cash forecasting. Manage banking relationships and optimize global cash management processes. Own all lender reporting, borrowing base certificates, debt covenant compliance, and related financial reporting requirements. Coordinate asset-based lending audits and support financing transactions, refinancing activities, and due diligence efforts. Partner with the CFO on capital structure, liquidity planning, and treasury strategy.
- Internal Controls, Audit & Tax Oversight: Design, implement, and continuously improve the Company's internal control framework. Standardize accounting processes and controls across the enterprise. Lead all external financial statement audits and maintain strong relationships with external auditors. Ensure timely completion of annual audits while driving continuous improvements in audit quality and efficiency. Provide executive oversight of the Company's tax function, including transfer pricing, income tax, indirect tax, and external tax advisors. Oversee corporate insurance programs and financial risk management activities.
- Business Partnership & Leadership: Partner with executive leadership to evaluate strategic initiatives, acquisitions, and operational improvement opportunities. Support enterprise initiatives focused on productivity, working capital optimization, and profitability improvement. Build strong relationships across Operations, Procurement, IT, Treasury, Tax, and international finance organizations to promote collaboration and consistency. Develop talent, establish succession planning, and build organizational capability within the accounting organization. Perform other duties and strategic initiatives as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer.
Credentials/Experience
- Qualification Requirements: Active CPA required. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- Experience/Educational/Training: Minimum of 15 years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience. Significant experience leading U.S. accounting for a multinational manufacturing organization. Demonstrated success leading finance integration following mergers and acquisitions. Extensive experience with acquisition accounting and purchase accounting. Experience leading ERP implementations, accounting system integration, and finance transformation initiatives. Public accounting experience required; Big Four experience strongly preferred. Private equity-backed company experience strongly preferred. Experience partnering with international finance organizations and managing global consolidations.
- Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: Expert knowledge of U.S. GAAP, technical accounting, financial reporting, and consolidations. Strong understanding of multinational consolidations, foreign currency translation, and global financial reporting. Experience managing treasury operations, lender reporting, debt covenant compliance, and banking relationships. Proven ability to lead organizational change and large-scale finance transformation initiatives. Exceptional leadership, communication, and executive presentation skills. Strong project management and cross-functional leadership capabilities. Highly analytical with outstanding business judgment and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to influence executive leadership and build collaborative relationships across a global organization.
