VP, Fulfillment Planning and Optimization

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a VP, Fulfillment Planning and Optimization to join the team of a leader in the Transportation space. This leader will own the planning framework that connects customer demand to fulfillment operations across a growing network. The role is highly cross-functional, partnering with customer experience, support, and operations teams to build scalable processes, improve forecasting accuracy, and strengthen labor and capacity planning. It is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who can turn demand signals into actionable execution plans while driving efficiency and customer satisfaction. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Pay

Compensation: $160,000 – $200,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the S&OP process, ensuring alignment between customer demand and operational readiness
• Partner with customer experience teams to understand demand drivers such as order volume and seasonality
• Translate forecasts into actionable operating plans, accounting for site-level and timing requirements
• Develop workforce plans based on forecasted demand across the fulfillment network
• Proactively manage labor requirements, hiring, and staffing to support expected volume
• Lead program management efforts that connect planning to execution across support functions
• Close the loop between forecasts and actual outcomes, refining plans based on performance

Qualifications

• Significant experience in S&OP, workforce planning, and capacity planning within complex fulfillment or logistics environments
• Deep understanding of translating customer demand into operational requirements, including labor and productivity needs
• Proven track record in dynamic environments where demand fluctuates and planning materially impacts operations
• Strong analytical skills combined with hands-on operational instincts, including the ability to question and validate planning assumptions
• Exceptional program management abilities to build accountability and structure without direct oversight of all teams involved
• Experience establishing scalable planning processes and teams in alignment with business growth
