About the role

Schwab’s branch team is at the heart of our commitment to helping clients own their financial futures. As a Financial Consultant, you’ll combine planning expertise with a thoughtful approach to holistic financial guidance including investing, retirement readiness, and education goals—serving as a trusted partner who guides clients through life’s financial decisions with clarity and empathy.

Responsibilities

  • Start with a book of existing Schwab clients, giving you a strong foundation to build lasting relationships and grow your practice.
  • Use your relationship-building and communication skills to deepen client connections and create meaningful impacts into the lives of the people and communities you serve.
  • Complete our comprehensive training through Wealth Management University, a four-week virtual experience led by live facilitators, followed by an immersive weeklong bootcamp to connect with peers and learn from experts.
  • Collaborate closely with your branch manager, experienced peers, and dedicated mentors who provide guidance tailored to your unique background and career goals.
  • Earn a competitive base salary complemented by a performance-driven incentive plan, providing unlimited earning potential from day one.
  • Manage wealth on behalf of our clients including: Retirement Planning, Education Planning, Investment Management, Banking & Lending Management, Insurance & Risk Management, and Estate Planning.

Requirements

  • A valid and active FINRA Series 7 license required.
  • Obtain or acquire FINRA Series 66 (63/65) as it will be required during your tenure on the job.
  • Obtain or acquire Life & Health Insurance as it will be required during your tenure on the job.
  • CFP® Certification is a plus. (If you have not obtained the CFP designation yet, we encourage your professional development with Tuition Reimbursement and our internal CFP Cohort Program).

Qualifications

  • Business Development: Proactively engage in warm outreach to existing and prospective clients, maintaining consistent sales activity to grow the book of business and strengthen client relationships.
  • Passion for community engagement: Share and engage clients in discussion about market conditions, sound investing principles, and ideal wealth and long-term investment strategies for their personal situation.
  • Desire to provide outstanding investor experience: Inspire action to help your clients’ progress toward achieving their goals.

  • Investment Strategies and Financial Planning: Openness to manage wealth on behalf of our clients including: Retirement Planning, Education Planning, Investment Management, Banking & Lending Management, Insurance & Risk Management, and Estate Planning.

Pay

This position offers a competitive base salary complemented by a performance-driven incentive plan, providing unlimited earning potential from day one. Schedule

The schedule for this role varies based on the needs of the branch and the individual's performance. Regular office hours are typically Monday through Friday, but may vary depending on the branch's operational requirements.
