VP, Finance Transformation & Strategic Initiatives

About the role

Oliver James is seeking a VP, Finance Transformation & Strategic Initiatives to lead the evolution of Finance within a growing life insurance / annuity platform. This is a high-impact role working directly with the CFO and senior leadership to transform Finance across reporting, systems, data, controls, and operating processes. You’ll own the transformation agenda and lead strategic initiatives across Finance, Accounting, Actuarial, Investments, Treasury, and Technology.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute the Finance transformation roadmap.
• Lead major Finance, accounting, and reporting transformation initiatives.
• Modernize GL, reporting, data, and Finance systems.
• Drive automation, process redesign, and scalable Finance infrastructure.
• Partner across Accounting, FP&A, Actuarial, Investments, and Operations.
• Lead complex projects from strategy through implementation.
• Advise the CFO and executive team on transformation and strategic initiatives.
• Support M&A, reinsurance transactions, integrations, and new business initiatives.
• Improve Finance controls, data quality, reporting, and scalability.

Requirements

• 12+ years across Finance, Accounting, Consulting, or Transformation roles.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale Finance transformation.
• Strong understanding of life insurance, annuities, and/or reinsurance.
• Deep knowledge of Finance processes, systems, data, and reporting.
• Experience leading ERP, automation, data, or reporting transformations.
• Strong executive presence with the ability to influence across functions.
• CPA, CFA, MBA, or equivalent a plus.
