VP Engineering - Infrastructure & SRE

For our client, a leader in the Finance & Insurance space, we are seeking a VP of Engineering to lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will collaborate across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. This role offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and long-term technology capabilities within a regulated financial services environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Own infrastructure vision and strategy, ensuring resilience and compliance
• Lead and mentor teams, fostering a culture of operational excellence
• Define and enforce service level objectives (SLOs) and manage incident recovery
• Manage on-call rotations and serve as senior incident commander during outages
• Direct AWS cloud strategy and manage associated budget
• Oversee Kubernetes platform and ensure seamless developer experience
• Champion AI-boosted site reliability engineering (SRE) transformation

Qualifications

• 15+ years in infrastructure, platform, or SRE roles with at least 5 years in leadership
• Hands-on expertise with AWS, Kubernetes, and relational databases (RDS/Aurora)
• Proven track record in disaster recovery and business continuity management
• Experience leading teams in adopting AI-assisted workflows
• Strong understanding of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or equivalent)
• Ability to manage large cloud budgets and drive cost-efficiency
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

Pay

$400,000 – $600,000 annually
