About the role

RUCKUS Networks powers enterprise networking for customers worldwide. We are seeking a Vice President of Engineering to lead our global engineering organization and drive the next chapter in AI-powered networking, cloud platforms, and enterprise infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Engineering Leadership: Full responsibility for the RUCKUS portfolio, including Wi-Fi access points, switching & routing, controllers, cloud control planes, analytics, AI, IoT, and identity.

• Multi-generation Roadmap Execution: Leading the development of Wi-Fi 7, Wi-Fi 8, AIOps, and NaaS.

• Quality Assurance, Release Engineering, CI/CD, and CodeOps: Ensuring high-quality, secure, and scalable software releases through disciplined processes.

• Cloud, Security & Operations: Managing cloud operations and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), ensuring uptime, incidents, and resilience. Overseeing security and compliance across engineering and products, including SOC 2, FedRAMP/GovRAMP, and NIST.

• AI Transformation: Implementing AI throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to enhance quality and velocity. Establishing AI governance, auditability, and quality gates. Ensuring AI-native, agent-like capabilities are integrated into core product features rather than add-ons.

• Organization & Talent: Leading a 660-person global engineering organization across seven sites. Evolving organizational design for an AI-augmented future, emphasizing clear ownership and rapid feedback loops. Building a culture of accountability, engineering excellence, and outcomes.

• Executive & External Leadership: Partnering closely with Product, Operations, Supply Chain, Security, Sales Engineering, and Support teams. Serving as a credible technical voice with customers, partners, analysts, executives, and the board. Supporting M&A diligence and technology integration efforts as needed.

Requirements

• 15+ years of engineering leadership; 5+ years leading Directors/Sr. Directors

• Experience running large, multi-site organizations with real revenue accountability

• 10+ years building enterprise or carrier-grade networking or cloud platforms

• Proven ownership of production cloud services, SRE, and customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

• Ownership of large-scale security and compliance programs

• Engineering budget ownership of $50M+ annually

• A clear, opinionated point of view on AI in the SDLC, backed by execution

• Strong product instincts and executive-level communication skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred)

Qualifications

Salary ranges consider a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to benchmarking by independent third-party consultants, skill sets, years of experience, training, education, geography, and other business needs. Depending on experience, the range can be higher for candidates with exceptional experience and a demonstrated history of successful performance. This position's expected total compensation (base salary and commission range) is $202,000.00-$310,000.00.
