VP, Direct Originations
This position is located in our Flower Mound, TX office in a hybrid capacity.
About the role
Responsible for sales in MHCA’s U.S. Transportation Vendor Solutions, Direct Originations business for a geographical region. Drives direct sales of equipment finance leases and loans, and ultimately developed service & maintenance products, technology-enabling products, and fee income agreements to end-user transportation fleet customers (private and for-hire). Collaborates across key business functions—including credit, documentation, administration, collections, and remarketing—to ensure seamless execution, customer satisfaction, and company profitability.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage strategic end-user customer relationships within the Transportation, Vendor Solutions Direct Lending business.
- Identify, target, and develop new end-user relationships.
- Solicit and sign end-user relationships.
- Achieve appropriate pricing for new business.
- Build relationships with strategic referrers of end-user customers.
- Set relationship guidelines and resolve end-user customer issues and complaints.
- Create and present effective program presentations and training tools for trade shows and strategic partner meetings.
- Collaborate with Marketing in targeting new relationships.
- Participate in establishing and consistently meeting business budget goals, including new business volume, spreads, service, fee and referral income, return on assets, and overall direct SG&A expenses.
- Develop new products leveraging industry expertise and channel relationships of the Transportation, Vendor Solutions division.
- Work closely with Senior Management and other department managers to foster an inclusive environment focused on cooperation, collaborative problem-solving, and collective ownership of business and customer responsibilities.
- Represent MHCA professionally at industry conventions, seminars, sales meetings, and other professional functions.
- Maintain the highest ethical and professional standards when representing MHCA.

Qualifications
- Proven success in a sales capacity.
- In-depth knowledge of the light, medium, and heavy-duty truck markets, as well as the finance/leasing, service, and technological products that support them.
- Demonstrated relationship-building skills.
- Understanding of the dynamics, competition, and customer opportunities of the trucking and work truck industries.
- Decisive and articulate, with polished professional sales and presentation skills, including strong oral and written communication.
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic and a sense of urgency.
- Comfortable with a leadership role; demonstrated team-building and collaborative management skills.
- Critical thinker capable of out-of-the-box solutions and process improvement.

Education and Experience
- BA/BS in Business or Finance required.
- 10+ years of related experience with a comparable financial institution.
Pay
Exempt position with a salary range of $140,000 - $175,000, plus commission opportunities. The salary range is determined based on internal equity, market data, applicant's skills, prior relevant experience, and education.

Schedule
Hours may vary and require some evening work; typically 40-45 hours per week depending on business needs. Domestic travel is required, including occasional travel to industry seminars.

- Ability to speak and hear customers or employees via phone or in person.
