About the Role

The VP, Consumer Loan Portfolio Manager is responsible for servicing oversight of all Mortgage subservicers. This role performs a variety of oversight activities, including reporting, delinquency review, research, analysis of agency-mandated timelines (e.g., FNMA), and MERS reconciliation, all in accordance with company policies, procedures, and U.S. state and federal laws.

Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with all subservicers, resolving loan-level issues with expertise, judgment, and professionalism.
  • Oversee the onboarding of new loan purchases to subservicers.
  • Create and maintain an open-item report for all subservicers, including follow-up and expected resolution dates.
  • Request and review quarterly credit score reporting from subservicers, analyzing declining scores or unreported data and reporting findings to internal staff.
  • Handle MERS responsibilities, including monthly reconciliation for all subservicers, TOB/TOS requests, and the annual audit.
  • Review and order valuations for defaulted loans, reporting values to accounting on a quarterly basis.
  • Research, understand, and review taxes, insurance, and escrow activity involving mortgage loans and documentation.
  • Provide cross-functional support within the department in a dynamic and demanding environment.
  • Gather portfolio oversight data to provide performance recaps and support other subservicing oversight areas as needed.
  • Uphold company values, including ethical conduct, integrity, and accountability for actions.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures, completing tasks accurately and on time while supporting company goals.
  • Ensure workplace safety, report unsafe conditions, and comply with OSHA standards.
  • Facilitate timely responses to audit requests as assigned by management.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7+ years of residential loan servicing experience within the financial services industry.
  • Broad understanding of residential, consumer, and commercial loan processes, documentation, and servicing.
  • Intermediate-level experience in residential loan servicing activities and terminology.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of state and federal banking compliance regulations, including fair lending, privacy, RESPA, and company operational policies.
  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with experience presenting to all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to make decisions with moderate impact on the work unit and cross-functional departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and intermediate math skills.
  • Ability to provide expert consultation to management and make formal/informal presentations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for complex, non-standardized situations.
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

The base salary offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, and abilities, aligned with market data and other factors.
