About the role
The VP, Consumer Loan Portfolio Manager is responsible for servicing oversight of all Mortgage subservicers. This position performs a variety of oversight activities including reporting, delinquency review, research, analysis of agency-mandated timelines (e.g., FNMA), and MERS reconciliation, all in accordance with company policies, procedures, and U.S. state and federal laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Manage relationships with all subservicers, resolving loan-level issues with expertise, judgment, and professionalism.
- Oversee onboarding of new loan purchases to subservicers.
- Create and maintain an open-item report for all subservicers with follow-up and expected resolution dates.
- Request and review quarterly credit score reporting from subservicers, including analysis of declining scores or unreported scores, and report findings to internal staff.
- Handle MERS responsibilities, including monthly reconciliation for all subservicers, TOB/TOS requests, and annual audit.
- Review and order valuations for defaulted loans and report values to accounting on a quarterly basis.
- Research, understand, and review taxes, insurance, and escrow activity involving mortgage loans and documentation.
- Provide cross-functional support within the department in a dynamic and demanding environment.
- Gather portfolio oversight data to provide performance recaps and support other areas of subservicing oversight as needed.
- Uphold company values, policies, and procedures, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Comply with occupational safety and health standards and facilitate timely responses to audit requests.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7+ years of residential loan servicing experience within the financial services industry.
- Broad understanding of residential, consumer, and commercial loan processes, documentation, and servicing.
- Intermediate-level experience in residential loan servicing activities and terminology.
- Knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations (e.g., fair lending, privacy, RESPA) and company operational policies.
- Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with experience presenting to users at all organizational levels.
- Ability to make decisions with moderate impact on the immediate work unit and cross-functional departments.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and computer terminal operations.
- Intermediate math skills, including calculating interest, percentages, balancing accounts, and interpreting bar graphs.
- Ability to provide expert consultation to management and make formal/informal presentations.
- Ability to handle complex problems involving multiple variables in non-standardized situations.
- Ability to work with little to no supervision.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.

Pay
The base salary offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, in alignment with market data and other factors.
