VP, Commercial Portfolio Manager
Roles & Responsibilities
- Partner with commercial banking leadership and designated bankers to manage existing client relationships and evaluate potential new clients.
- Afford assistance with onboarding customers, ensuring a smooth process through coordination with internal teams (Loan Coordinator, Treasury Management, Credit, etc.).
- Maintain oversight of booked credit facilities, including interim financial reviews, borrowing base reviews, covenant compliance testing, annual reviews, and problem loan administration.
- Analyze financial statements and prepare credit proposals for existing and prospective clients.
- Support loan committee presentations, annual credit reviews, and problem loan summaries.
- Administer nonperforming loans and support risk mitigation strategies.
- Assist in establishing and negotiating credit terms, including costs, repayment methods, and collateral requirements.
- Mentor junior Portfolio Managers and assist in training future bankers and coordinators.
- Support preparation of materials for team meetings, executive reports, audits, and regulatory examinations.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field; or equivalent experience required.
- Seven or more years of experience in commercial credit, commercial lending, or financial examination.
- Proven experience with commercial lending and portfolio management.
- Familiarity with loan documentation and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience in risk assessment and managing problem loans.
- Strong credit analysis and financial modeling skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Knowledge of commercial lending guidelines and industry best practices.
- Ability to independently structure and negotiate non-complex loan transactions.
- Ability to provide meaningful support for credit structuring and negotiating on more complex loan transactions, including reviewing loan documentation for accuracy.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Commitment to customer service excellence and relationship building.
About the Role
The VP, Commercial Portfolio Manager provides strategic support to the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Banking team. This role focuses on managing portfolio risk, supporting credit analysis, and assisting with special projects to ensure strong client relationships and sound credit practices.

Pay
$120,000 - $175,000 base salary + annual bonus
