VP, Portfolio Manager

About the role

Axos Bank Target Range: $135,000.00/Yr - $150,000.00/Yr Actual starting pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education. Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Cash Bonus Target: 10% Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Restricted Stock Units Bonus Target: 10% These discretionary target bonuses may be awarded semi-annually based upon your achievement of performance goals and targets.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of non-real estate lender finance clients, including specialty finance companies, consumer lending platforms, and other non-bank financial institutions
• Ensure timely and accurate risk monitoring, covenant compliance, and performance reporting
• Conduct in-depth credit analysis and stress testing on underlying collateral and borrower performance
• Identify emerging risks and recommend proactive mitigation strategies
• Manage a team of analysts and work closely with others on the team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
• Allocate resources effectively to meet portfolio objectives and deadlines
• Serve as a key point of contact for clients regarding portfolio performance and risk-related matters
• Cultivate long-term client relationships and identify product cross-sell opportunities
• Collaborate with credit, underwriting, and syndications teams to support new transactions and amendments
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal credit policies, and audit standards
• Prepare and present portfolio reviews to senior management and risk committees

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; formal credit training preferred
• 10+ years in commercial lending, structured finance, or portfolio management, with a focus on non-real estate lender finance
• Proven experience managing complex portfolios
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including proficiency in financial modeling and risk assessment
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and capital markets
• Experience managing syndicated credit facilities in an administrative agent role preferred
