Position Overview
The VP Commercial Leadership will partner closely with the President and Senior Leadership Team to develop and execute a unified commercial strategy across multiple business units. This is not a traditional “hunter” sales role. The organization is seeking a strategic commercial leader capable of building scalable sales processes, developing commercial talent, driving organizational alignment, and leading transformational growth initiatives across the business.
What You Will Be Doing
- Develop and execute enterprise-wide go-to-market strategies aligned with organizational growth objectives
- Identify new market opportunities, customer segments, and growth initiatives across multiple business units
- Create and implement commercial strategies designed to increase wallet share, customer retention, and revenue growth
- Partner with executive leadership to establish long-term growth priorities and commercial objectives
- Build and implement scalable sales processes, structures, and commercial best practices
- Develop unified sales frameworks across multiple business units while respecting operational differences
- Establish performance metrics, accountability systems, and forecasting processes
- Recruit, develop, coach, and mentor future commercial leaders across the organization
- Improve CRM utilization, sales reporting, forecasting accuracy, and pipeline visibility
- Implement KPIs, dashboards, and commercial performance management tools
- Create greater transparency and accountability across the commercial organization
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across sales and customer engagement processes
- Serve as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and partner closely with executive leadership to drive organizational growth initiatives
- Collaborate with operations, construction, service, controls, and support functions to align growth strategies across the business
- Lead organizational change initiatives associated with commercial transformation
- Influence and gain buy-in across a highly collaborative, relationship-driven organization
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience leading commercial organizations within complex, multi-site service or operational environments
- Experience building scalable processes, systems, and organizational structures
- Experience leading sales transformation, commercial excellence, or go-to-market initiatives
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across multiple functions and business units
- Strategic thinking with a strong execution orientation
- Demonstrated success developing and coaching commercial teams
- Comfortable operating in evolving, entrepreneurial, and high-growth environments
- Value for culture, leadership development, and long-term organizational success
Technical / Functional Experience
- Experience leading sales, business development, commercial operations, or growth organizations
- Experience implementing or optimizing CRM systems, forecasting tools, and commercial KPIs
- Exposure to multi-site service, distribution, construction, industrial, or operational environments strongly preferred
- Experience leading organizational change and commercial transformation initiatives
- Strong business acumen, financial understanding, and strategic planning capability required
