VP, C&I Relationship Manager

Banesco USA is seeking a VP, Relationship Manager for our Commercial & Industrial unit in Miami-Dade County.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for business development activities and generation of new commercial & industrial loans.
• Interviews prospective applicants and requests information related to the loan or credit application; corresponds with applicants and resolves questions regarding the application.
• Performs a pre-qualification assessment and analysis of the financial condition and risk of the loan request within the framework of the Bank’s credit appetite.
• Gathers and analyzes information necessary to present a financing request to Management and/or Loan Committee for approval.
• Meets with existing or potential customers, visits loan sites, negotiates loan terms and conditions.
• Approves loans within established lending limits or refers and recommends acceptance to the Chief Credit Officer or Loan Committee.
• Coordinates the process of approved loans, ensuring loans are processed according to agreement, customer documentation is filed, and resolves issues related to processing and servicing of loans.
• Approves loan disbursements in accordance with approved agreements.
• Performs the entire loan process: negotiation, underwriting, and coordinating the closing of commercial & industrial loans.
• Negotiates, underwrites, and processes renewals of credit facilities.
• Monitors the loan portfolio to ensure safety and soundness; takes necessary actions to remedy deficiencies or gather missing documentation.
• Adheres to the Bank’s policies and procedures regarding lending, credit, BSA, and other policies.
• Maintains good customer relationships, seeks cross-selling opportunities, and proactively retains existing customers.
• Handles the administrative portion of customer relationships, reviewing NSF, overdraft, wire transfer, BSA requirements, etc.
• Completes annual training programs assigned.
• Performs other functions and/or duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration preferred or equivalent experience.
• Ten (10) years of experience as a Commercial Lender.
• Commercial & Industrial lending experience required.
• Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Must be bilingual in both English and Spanish (ability to fluently speak, understand, read, and write both languages).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
• Strong customer service skills, ensuring satisfaction of both internal and external customers.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to multi-task, with strong organization, time-management, and prioritizing skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment to ensure compliance with department procedures.
• Knowledge of related State and Federal banking compliance regulations and operational policies.
• Ability to understand and comprehend instructions, procedures, and policies to ensure compliance with the Bank’s policies.
• Advanced knowledge of lending and compliance regulations, and other Bank lending policies.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills to identify problems and present them to the appropriate parties.
