About the Role
The Vice President (VP) of Admissions is responsible for strategic management of the student recruitment lifecycle, admissions processes, and the training and development strategies across the platform. This role focuses on creating demand and conversion through maintaining dotted-line and functional relationships, achieving company goals for each vertical, and meeting targets related to existing campus operations.
Responsibilities
- Owns and drives market demand and conversion, delivering satisfaction and serving as the voice of the Admissions extended network.
- Provides leadership to the Ground Enrollment Teams and counsel to the SVP of Operations and executive leaders in implementing customer and growth objectives aligned with business goals.
- Establishes and oversees comprehensive policies, procedures, and training to ensure the Admissions Process Overview (APO) is fully compliant with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., Title IV) and accrediting body standards, actively mitigating institutional risk.
- Drives integration and optimization of the Admissions process with Student Financial Services and/or Financial Aid workflows, focusing on minimizing "Not Packaged" files, reducing time-to-ISIR completion, and ensuring timely, accurate financial readiness.
- Partners strategically with the Marketing Team and external agencies to monitor lead quality, "Marketing Impact," and "Admissions Impact" lead-to-enrollment performance, optimizing follow-up strategies to maximize demand capture and conversion.
- Manages day-to-day operations, adherence to processes and metrics, and departmental budgets as defined by the annual operating plan (AOP).
- Hires, trains, develops, and manages a high-performance team focused on new student demand and conversion.
- Develops a metrics-, customer-, and market-driven culture aligned with company priorities.
- Partners with the Operations Team and other Leadership Team members to identify opportunities for APO improvements and design.
- Facilitates the successful implementation of new programs and fosters continuous process improvement.
- Serves as the voice of the customer, collaborating with the Leadership Team to align company, technology, and product strategy.
- Recommends changes and enhancements to the current platform.
- Works closely with ground campus teams and leaders to define market opportunities and support methodologies for organizational success.
- Ensures growth-related reports and internal data points are provided to the SVP of Operations and Ops Team, developing new reporting tools and dashboards as needed.
- Prioritizes market objectives with leadership to drive demand and increase market share.
- Recruits, trains, and coaches members of the Extended Leadership Team (ELT).
- Travels up to 50% or as needed by business demand.
- Works nights, weekends, and/or holidays as required.
- Communicates effectively and professionally via phone, email, text, and in-person with students and staff from diverse backgrounds.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Human Resources, or other industry-related specialization or at least 5 years of industry-related experience, including 3 years in upper management.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, particularly telephonic, and strong written communication abilities.
- Persistence combined with a positive attitude and self-motivating work style.
- Mature, positive, and collaborative interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively use applicable school systems, databases, and tools.
- Extensive knowledge of industry principles, procedures, and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced knowledge and functionality of Google Suite.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and adapt to changes in work environment or schedule.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team in a highly structured and regulated environment.
- Ability to work remotely in any state where Ancora is licensed/approved to do business.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Research, or equivalent training and experience.
Physical Demands
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle objects/tools, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Work Environment
- Work environment is usually not exposed to weather conditions.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
