About the role
The Vice President, Applications Portfolio Management is a senior technology leader responsible for the strategy, governance, and health of Sedgwick's application portfolio and Application Management Services (AMS).
Responsibilities
- Provides executive accountability for the health, stability, performance, and sustainability of RUN services across assigned application portfolios.
- Establishes the strategy, governance framework, and operating model for Application Management Services (AMS) and application portfolio management.
- Oversees portfolio performance, service quality, operational risk, and value realization, ensuring alignment with business priorities and technology objectives.
- Sponsors initiatives that improve application reliability, resiliency, scalability, and operational maturity.
- Serves as the executive relationship leader for AMS providers and strategic technology partners, ensuring delivery against service commitments and business objectives.
- Provides oversight of service management disciplines, including Incident, Problem, Change, Release, and Service Request Management, to ensure operational excellence.
- Serves as the senior escalation point for significant service disruptions, operational risks, and vendor performance concerns.
- Leads governance reviews, operational performance assessments, and executive reporting to drive accountability, transparency, and informed decision-making.
- Ensures compliance with security, audit, regulatory, resiliency, business continuity, and disaster recovery requirements across assigned application portfolios.
- Maintains and mitigates operational and technology risks impacting portfolio performance and service delivery.
- Pairs with business, product, engineering, infrastructure, and security leaders to align application strategies with enterprise priorities and business transformation initiatives.
- Influences portfolio investment decisions, vendor strategies, capacity planning, and cost optimization efforts to maximize business value and operational effectiveness.
- Develops executive-level dashboards, metrics, and performance reporting to support strategic planning and portfolio management decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field required. Advanced degree preferred.
- Relevant ITIL, Agile, SAFe, SRE, Cloud, or vendor management certifications preferred.
- Ten (10+) years of progressively responsible information technology experience required, including leadership responsibility for enterprise application support, service delivery, managed services, vendor management, or technology operations.
- Experience leading large-scale application portfolios and managing strategic service providers in a complex global environment preferred.
