VP and Chief Actuary

About the role

Our client, a leader in the Finance & Insurance space, is seeking a VP and Chief Actuary to join their team. This executive role will shape enterprise actuarial strategy and serve as a key advisor to senior leadership on financial performance and risk. The position will lead core actuarial functions across pricing, forecasting, modeling, and compliance, with a strong focus on healthcare-related lines of business. In partnership with cross-functional teams, this leader will help strengthen risk mitigation, enhance analytics, and support value-based care and quality initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise actuarial strategy and advise executive leadership on financial performance
• Direct actuarial functions including pricing, forecasting, and risk modeling
• Ensure compliance with actuarial standards and regulatory requirements
• Monitor healthcare utilization and recommend financial risk mitigation strategies
• Oversee actuarial analytics and predictive modeling to identify market trends
• Collaborate with departments to develop value-based payment models and quality metrics
• Provide leadership and development for actuarial and underwriting staff

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive actuarial leadership experience in healthcare or related fields
• Minimum 4 years in a leadership role
• Experience with Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, ACA Marketplace, and risk adjustment programs
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted actuarial principles and practices
• Active member of the American Academy of Actuaries and Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA)

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $156,061 – $375,522 annually
